Market Day in Machynlleth
Every Wednesday is market day in Machynlleth. You will want to get there before lunchtime as the car parks tend to fill early. Bring coins to pay for parking, and pick up birdseed and peanuts at the stall located near the clock tower to feed the birds at Maesywerngoch. In Machynlleth there are two supermarkets. The first, The Co-operative (The Co-op) is located at the far end of the High Street with a large car park. And there is a SPAR supermarket, also on the High Street, with a post office inside.
T. Rowlands Butcher
Located up the coast in Tywyn, Rowlands is a family butcher serving delicious local salt marsh lamb and a good selection of beef and pork.
Ian Snow - Handmade, Fairtrade, Bohemian
Do not leave Machynlleth without a visit to this quirky and well loved shop in the heart of Machynlleth. Located next to the Wynnstay Hotel Ian Snow contains something for everyone. Many items are sourced in India and there is a good selection of clothing, cards, games, textiles and just about anything else you might want or need.
