Wales Cottage Holiday

"The most beautiful place"

If you are looking for a relaxing stay in luxury this house is the place for you. The pictures do not do the location & the property justice. I cannot recommend this house enough, we had 7 children with us and it was fantastic to see them enjoying their time playing, The grounds are enormous and give hours of fun. We spent the day crab fishing by the beach and had a 2 hour pony trek, we cooked most days in the house but dined out at a few places facing Abedovey Beach. The house guide is brilliant and I would recommend any places to dine that are suggested. We will definitely be returning.

"Beautiful long house in the wilds of Snowdonia"

The location of this house was perfect for our Christmas family gathering. It is surrounded by streams, forests and mountains but only 15 minutes by car into the nearest town. Peaceful and quiet with no neighbors close by. The house lived up to all our expectations. Large, Stylish, modern and clean in a traditional building, set in wonderful scenery. The house had been beautifully decorated with 2 very large real Christmas trees. The house was stunningly furnished and very clean with plenty of towels provided for our use. Terry, the caretaker, was fantastic . A real gem who can problem solve and who has the social and communication skills to welcome all visitors. We had a slight problem with the heating which Terry fixed in no time at all. He also gave us tips on where to visit and which were the best routes to take. The gardens were huge and beautiful and we especially enjoyed watching the birds feed on the feeder at the front of the house. We and our dog also enjoyed the many varied walks around the house. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and was really appreciated. We will definitely be coming back to Maesywerngoch.

"We felt immediately at home"

Everything you could possibly need is provided. The location is so quiet and idyllic, great for walks and mountain biking. The house is so spacious, warm and beautifully furnished. The kitchen is well stocked with everything a proper cook requires. The wood burning stoves in all the living spaces makes it so relaxing and cosy. Thank you Susan, we would love to come back!

“Wonderful, spacious, home from home surrounded by parklike gardens”

“Wonderful, spacious, home from home surrounded by parklike gardens”

We were a party of 12 friends from Germany and England and spent our yearly summer holiday together at Maesywerngoch. We also had a dog with us and he absolutely loved the spacious house and gardens. We really enjoyed our stay at the wonderful house in a lovely location. The gardens are more like parks and you can wander off into the forest in all directions.

There are plenty of sights in the area. We went to the nice beaches at Harlech and Aberdovey. We had a nice time at Machynlleth market, went on a nice day trip to Aberystwyth, a wonderful Sunday Lunch at the Riverside Hotel and we explored the nearby footpaths in the house surroundings. Wherever we spent our days (sometimes in busy places), it always felt really nice to come back to the house and enjoy the quiet and relaxing atmosphere.

"Luxurious remote retreat”

The house is situated up a 3 mile loggers track and you really feel like you are getting away from it all. We were celebrating a 40th birthday with a number of generations of the family and did not feel that we had to keep quiet as the nearest neighbour is miles away. The house is truly stunning and a lot of thought has gone into making the house a real treat to stay in. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and the landscaped gardens are extensive and beautiful to walk and play in . The kids loved all the waterfalls and places to hide as did our dog!

Aberdyfi, Barmouth and mountain walking is within an easy drive from the house and there is also a fantastic restaurant in the nearby village.

“Perfect accommodation and location”

“Perfect accommodation and location”

13 of us in total, 8 adults, 5 children and 2 dogs all to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. What a fantastic place, brilliant location and spacious accommodation. The house itself was so well equipped with everything you needed, was spotlessly clean and great layout. The surrounding area, great for walking and we all had so much fun in the large garden with our Easter Egg Hunt. Could go on and on about this place. As for the owner Susan Harrison, she could not have been more helpful and attentive.

"What a wonderful world!"

Our long weekend at Maesywerngoch was excellent. The house is in a beautiful setting and the spacious interior is extremely comfortable and relaxing. The space allowed our party of 7 + 2 dogs to do our own thing when we wanted. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we were able to go on long walks with the dogs. This is an excellent venue for any size of party.

"Beautiful house, stunning location"

We stayed at Maesywerngoch for a weekend to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday, the ages of our party ranging from 17-70 plus a dog. Everyone had a fantastic time - the house is warm, welcoming, spacious and well equipped, with comfy furniture, fab decor and beautiful views. The grounds are marvellous and well kept, with a mixture of lawns, streams and ponds surrounded by woodland. There are lots of interesting walks starting from the house and some fantastic looking bike tracks. The place is beautifully secluded - we didn't see a soul all weekend.

Back again for another relaxing stay. House as clean and comfortable as it was before. This place is the best for a group holiday. Fab views and walks from the doorstep. So peaceful....A great location
“Fantastic comfortable house in a lovely setting”

“Fantastic comfortable house in a lovely setting”

We have celebrated New Year at Maesywerngoch for four years in a row and have enjoyed our stay very much each time. Firstly the owner has always been very helpful and friendly with all the booking and arrangements. The house and its large garden is located in the middle of the forest with many walks on the doorstep and has a great feeling of isolation. What we really like also is that the house is very comfortable inside so its great to enjoy the area around and also to relax inside.
“High quality accommodaton in a beautiful tranquil setting, perfect for large groups.”

“High quality accommodaton in a beautiful tranquil setting, perfect for large groups.”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property which is fitted and equipped to a high standard. We were a group of 6 couples and there was more than enough room to accommodate us all. We enjoyed a local scenic walk and there are so many walks to choose from we just wish we could have stayed longer. We made full use of the grounds playing games and a barbeque into the small hours. It was fabulous to experience the complete silence apart from birdsong and the babbling brook. We are making plans to visit again next year.
“Perfect Rural Retreat”

“Perfect Rural Retreat”

Such an perfect place for a relaxing holiday, my husband and I take our dogs (which this property is perfect for too) and the walks from the door are great and the beach is only a short drive away. The house itself is like a home from home and has everything you need for an enjoyable relaxing stay. I would definitely recommend this property, especially if you enjoy the great outdoors and coming home to a perfect retreat.
